When is the next HAUS Film Festival scheduled?
We currently do not have plans to host an in-person festival at this time. We look forward to bring back HAUS Film Festival in-person when the moment is right.
How can I submit my film to Haus Film Festival?
We are not accepting film submissions at this time.
Does HAUS Film Festival host any competitions?
Yes, we are hold a screenwriting competition from June 16th to October 31st, 2025 to spotlight screenplays from emerging talent.
How can I submit my screenplay to the competition?
Go to Film Freeway to enter the screenwriting competition after June 16th. You may also see the Screenwriting Competition page for more information on how to enter the contest.
When are the deadlines for the screenwriting competition?
Submissions open on June 16th, 2025.
Early submissions close on July 12th.
Regular submissions close August 10th.
Late submissions close September 7th.
Final submissions close October 5th (additional fees may apply to late submissions).
Is there a fee for submissions?
Entry into the screenwriting contest is $30 per screenplay. Late entries may have additional fees. Entry fees are non-refundable and unrelated to the selection process for screenplays, laurels, or judge’s awards. Please see the Screenwriting Competition page for more information on how to pay the entrance fee.
Are there discounts available?
Early submissions can use the code “HAUSEARLY” for $5 off early deadline submissions. Other discounts may be available as time goes on. Watch this space!
What are the requirements for screenplays?
Screenplays must be less than 30 pages and must abide by the “17 Commandments of Screenwriting” as laid out in The Screenwriter’s Bible by David Trottier. For more information on the requirements, including the 17 Commandments and formatting, see the Screenwriting Competition page.
How can I get feedback on my screenplay?
HAUS Film Festival is excited to offer in-depth reviews and feedback to screenwriters who are interested in this service. Comprehensive reviews will include suggestions and notes on voice, flow, characterization, grammar, proofreading, and more. Please see the Screenwriting Competition page for more information on having your screenplay professionally edited.
